Ellen Lucey, OTR/L, has been a pediatric occupational therapist since 1997 and has worked in school settings since 2004. She brings extensive experience supporting children with a variety of challenges, including physical conditions such as cerebral palsy; emotional and behavioral challenges such as oppositional defiant disorder; and neurodivergent profiles including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and sensory processing disorder. Ellen is committed to meeting each child’s unique needs with a compassionate, strengths-based approach that fosters confidence, independence, and growth.
In her pursuit of deeper, lasting change, Ellen began focusing on the foundational aspects of development, particularly rhythmic movements and primitive reflex integration. By addressing these early movement patterns, she has found that children often experience faster and more comprehensive progress—improving not just in motor skills, but also in attention, communication, regulation, and learning. This root-cause approach using play based therapy has become a powerful cornerstone of her practice.
